Covid-19, the New York Cityscape & ‘The New York Times’

The text below is a historical analysis of The New York Times articles covering the NYC subway and cityscape during the initial months of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through use of the from the journal’s online archives, the paper highlights the perceptions of the virus’s impact, identifies journalistic trends, and synthesizes journalistic work with public health data. 

The project was part of the INAF 503 Pandemics & Politics course taught by Thomas Zimmer, PhD during the spring semester of 2022.
